Montefiore Restaurant

Across from the Old City’s walls and at the heart of the captivating Mishkenot Sha’ananim neighborhood is the Montefiore restaurant, which overlooks impressive views of Jerusalem.

These superb views call for extraordinary food. Montefiore offers diners outstanding gourmet Italian cuisine. The restaurant’s kitchen uses only the finest, most carefully selected ingredients in all of its dishes.

Montefiore’s menu includes exciting starters, such as sea fish crudo with fresh artichoke, the chef’s special mustard crème brulée, and salmon subtly smoked over citrus wood that imbues it with extraordinary flavors and aromas. Main courses include fresh homemade pastas served with a variety of sauces. The menu also features fish dishes and delicious pizza that celebrate the simplicity and beauty of Italian cuisine. The restaurant offers an extensive variety of wines from its excellent cellar.

Touro Restaurant

Touro is a kosher meat restaurant that features a rich Mediterranean menu with Asian influences and also offers vegan and vegetarian dishes. Chef Benny Ashkenazi places great emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and unique cooking techniques.

It is located at the heart of the picturesque Mishkenot Sha’ananim neighborhood, overlooking breathtaking views of the Old City’s walls and the Tower of David.

The restaurant is named for Judah Touro (1775–1854), an American-Jewish philanthropist whose generous donation enabled the establishment of the neighborhood.

Touro is housed in a historic building, the former location of Chef Moise Pe’er’s renowned restaurant, which was frequented by legendary Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek and his many guests. The building, designated for historic preservation, is located at the foot of the historic windmill built by Moses Montefiore and adjacent to the Mishkenot Sha’ananim Guest House, which hosts visiting artists and intellectuals.

The restaurant features an outdoor balcony with spectacular views and an interior space that blends the historic building’s charm with contemporary elements.

Touro is delighted to host events with up to 120 guests on the balcony or up to 20 guests in a private room.
